French Bulldog vs Pug
The check that settles it
Drop ears, a curled tail over the back, and a rounder head.
Confirming a french bulldog
- Large rounded bat ears, erect and set high — the character that separates it from a Boston Terrier's pointed ears.
- A very short flat muzzle with heavy wrinkling over the nose.
- A naturally short tail, straight or screwed. It is not docked.
- Compact, heavy, low-slung, with a roached topline.
Confirming a pug
- A tail curled tightly over the hip, ideally double-curled.
- Small folded 'button' ears lying against the head — not erect.
- A round head with a very short muzzle and deep nose wrinkle.
- Square, cobby body — as long as it is tall.
