Ragamuffin vs Ragdoll
The check that settles it
Ragdolls are always pointed with blue eyes. A large docile semi-longhair in a non-pointed colour is a Ragamuffin.
Confirming a ragamuffin
- Any colour and pattern, and eyes of any colour — this is the split from the Ragdoll.
- A rounded head with a distinctly puffy muzzle.
- A dense rabbit-like coat that resists matting.
- Slow maturing, reaching full size at around four years.
Confirming a ragdoll
- Blue eyes, always, combined with a large heavy body.
- A silky semi-long coat with little undercoat, so it mats less than it looks like it should.
- Pointed pattern, often with white mittens or an inverted white V on the face.
- Slow to mature — full size and colour at three to four years.
